Total Workers Stage Walk-Out

Striking workers disrupted production at six Total refineries across France Thurs- day. The protest is the second staged by refinery workers in less than two months and stems from concerns over job security after the French oil major announced the closure of its Dunkirk refinery last month (IOD Feb.25,p3). Total has said it will keep its other five refineries running for at least the next five years and has pledged to find new jobs for the 370 workers em- ployed at Dunkirk.
