Australia’s Tap Oil has spudded the Mawar-1 well onshore Brunei in Block M. This is the first of two wells planned and follows a slight delay due to problems with the rig equipment (IOD Jul.23,p6). “Mawar-1 has significant oil potential at low-to-moderate risk due to the offset well control and interpretation on modern 3-D seismic data,” Tap’s CEO Peter Stickland said.
