Report Says That US Imports From Canada’s Oil Sands Will Leap

The US is poised to see a sharp increase in the amount of oil imported from Canada’s oil sands over the next two decades, accord- ing to a new report by a major consultancy. IHS Cera says the amount of crude im- ported from Canada’s oil sands could ulti- mately increase to between 20% and 36% of total US oil imports by 2030, up from 8% at present.
