Ratings agency Fitch on Monday revised down the outlook for Royal Dutch Shell’s credit rating to negative from stable because of its “weakened financial profile.” Fitch, one of the three prime ratings agencies, has an AA+ rating on Shell’s debt. This is the sec- ond-highest rating Fitch assigns after AAA. As well as concerns over Shell finances, Fitch is worried that the Anglo-Dutch supermajor’s “operating cash flow in the medium term may be insufficient to restore its financial profile to a level commensurate with an ‘AA+’ rating.”
