Statoil Makes 2 Finds

Norwegian StatoilHydro has discovered gas with two separate wells drilled on the Mikkel field in the Norwegian Sea and off the North Sea's Oseberg C platform, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) said Thursday. Statoil estimates the Mikkel discovery, 6407/6-7S, holds 500 MMcm-1 Bcm of gas. The Mikkel licensees are considering jointly producing the gas find with the 6407/6-6 discovery, made in 2008, via a tie-back to the Asgard field.
