Australian minnow Roc Oil said Tuesday that adjustments to the drilling program have cut costs related to the development of its 9,000 b/d Basker-Manta-Gummy (BMG) joint venture off Australia by US$100 million in 2009.The joint venture has swapped its leased Songa Venus rig with Royal Dutch Shell for the Ocean Patriot. "The rig swap for the Ocean Patriot, which is currently located in Bass Strait, has removed substantial mobilization costs associated with towing the Songa Venus rig from the Timor Sea to Bass Strait and allows for better management of operational risks," Roc said Tuesday.
