Weak demand and continued pressure on refining margins have caused Sunoco, the second-largest US independent refiner, to idle indefinitely its 150,000 b/d Eagle Point refinery in Westville, New Jersey. The Philadelphia-based company also announced a reduction by half of its quarterly dividend to 15￠/share from 30￠ in order to conserve cash and maintain a strong liquidity position.
