Gazprom Domestic Tariffs Rise

Russia's Federal Tariff Service (FTS) has approved increases in wholesale and transportation tariffs for gas from Russian state Gazprom with effect from January. "The average increase in regulated wholesale gas prices for 2010 is set at 15% ... for all categories of consumers except the population of regions in which the wholesale price of gas is at a level lower than for other consumers," the FTS said Friday. "For the population in these regions, it is planned to increase prices twice a year: 5% from Jan. 1 and 15% from Apr. 1, 2010."
