Typhoon Kalmaegi swept across the ports of Beihai and Fangcheng in southern China on the evening of 16 September. Both ports are understood to be closed as a result as heavy rain continues. Both Kailin and YUC expect losses at these ports but the extent of damage is currently unknown. In July, southern Chinese ports were damaged by Typhoon Rammasun and resulted in DAP losses of up to an estimated 250,000t.
