A new steroidal glycoside, stigma 5(6)-ene-3-β-O-(β-D-gIucopyranoside)-20-β-ol (1) along with two known steroids namely β-sitosterol and β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside were isolated from the aerial parts of Croton oblongifolius Roxb. The chemical structure of new steroidal glycoside was elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic evidences.
