MOU Signed Covering Cooperation in the Energy Sector and the Possible Export of Cypriot Gas

On the occasion of the Egyptian Economic Development Conference (EEDC) held in Charm el-Sheikh (see page 18), Egypt and Cyprus signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) providing for them to exchange information about the possibility of laying a pipeline to link the offshore Aphrodite field in Cyprus to the Egyptian coast. According to the Egyptian Oil Minister, Mr. Sherif Ismail, a study of this project is going to be carried out between now and mid-2015.
