Siemens to Supply Turbines and Generators Worth $590 Million to the Rabigh 2 Power Station

Siemens Energy has won a contract for the supply of six gas turbines, three steam turbines and nine generators for the Rabigh 2 combined-cycle power station, which is being developed as an independent power project (IPP). The German company’s contract is worth $590 million and was awarded by Samsung C&T which, together with ACWA Power International, signed a construction, exploitation and funding contract for the project last December (AOG, 16 Dec., 2013).
