摘要

The Iraqi and Jordanian governments have signed an agreement for the construction of an oil pipeline doubled over by a gasline that will run from the Basra region in southern Iraq to the port of Aqaba in Jordan, Mr. Nihad Moussa, the Managing Director of the State Company for Oil Projects, which is attached to the Iraqi Oil Ministry, told the Jordanian news agency Petra. "We will immediately undertake all procedures to begin the implementation of this strategic project," he said. "Plans and technical studies which are currently being carried out by a Canadian company, should be completed by the end of the year." The Canadian company concerned is SNC-Lavalin, which was awarded a contract worth $13.5 million in 2011 for the FEED (front-end engineering and design) studies for the project.
