BG Breaks Off Negotiations for the Supply of Gas to Israel and Confirms its Commitments to Egypt

In an interview with the Israeli newspaper TheMarker,the Vice-President of BG India responsible for the Gaza Marine field,Mr.Nigel Shaw,indicated that he had informed the Israeli Prime Minister,Mr.Ehud Olmert,of the British company's decision to break off negotiations for the supply of natural gas to the Israeli market.Mr.Shaw confirmed that BG would instead market the gas discovered off the Palestinian Gaza strip on the international market via Egypt(AOG,16 April,2006).
