QP,ExxonMobil and Edison Embark on the Construction of the Isola di Porto Levante LNG Terminal in Italy

Qatar Petroleum(QP),Exxon Mobil Corporation and Edison announced on 2 May that they had signed major agreements concerning the Isola di Porto Levante LNG reception and regasification terminal(initially known as the North Adriatic LNG Terminal Project-AOG,1 Dec.,2003),which is to be built on Italy's northern Adriatic coast.The terminal will have a capacity of 8 billion cu m/year and is scheduled to come on stream at the end of 2007.All the necessary authorizations for the construction and operation of the facility have been obtained from the Italian government and the European Commission.
