Glencore closing Singapore coal marketing hub

Switzerland-based trading and mining company Glencore is closing its coal marketing hub in Singapore, and will instead sell coal direct from its Australian mines to customers using its global marketing team. Glencore will pay its global marketing team a commission on coal sales. The global marketing team is headquartered in Switzerland but has offices in most coal buying countries to help market its Australian coal. The coal marketing function of Glencore’s Singapore office will be closed over the next few weeks, although its oil and gas marketing functions will remain in Singapore.
