Alliance boosts 2014 sales outlook

Alliance Resource Partners raised its forecast for 2014 coal sales and boosted production guidance for its Tunnel Ridge and Gibson South mines even though frigid winter conditions disrupted shipments from some properties in the frst quarter. The Oklahoma-based company raised its anticipated sales and production volumes for 2014 to 40.3mn-41mn short tons (36.6mn-37.2mn metric tonnes), from a prior estimate of 39.3mn-40.8mn st. The average sales price for this year will likely be in line with 2013, chief fnancial offcer Brian Cantrell said on a conference call.
