Arch Coal is working with the Partnership for a Better Energy Future and states and utilities to build opposition to proposed new federal regulations for greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from existing power plants. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) earlier this month released a plan for regulating emissions from existing power plants that it estimates will slash the US power sector's GHG emissions by 30pc from 2005 levels by 2030.
