The Energy Information Administration (EIA) expects natural gas' share of US electricity generation to decrease next year because of higher gas prices, allowing coal to regain some market share. Gas will provide 27pc of generation in 2013, down from an expected average of 30pc in 2012, the EIA said today in its monthly Short-Term Energy Outlook.
