PCA WASHINGTON OFFICE MOVES TO D.C.'S FIRST GREEN OFFICE BUILDING

Effective in late June, Portland Cement Association's Washington, D.C., offices moved to the new National Association of Realtors headquarters near Capitol Hill. Also close to House and Senate office buildings, the new location signals a greater presence in Washington for PCA and the cement industry. As the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design- (LEED-) certified building in D.C., the concrete-framed structure also re-affirms the industry's commitment to sustainable development, the tenant improvements of PCA's office on the seventh floor also comply with LEED guidelines. The office space was designed to capitalize on the building's access to daylight and views. All interior offices have glass fronts, which allow daylight to penetrate the space and lessens the need for electricity during the day. Daylight responsive controls were installed in all regularly occupied areas to manage light levels at different times of the day.
