Bear Canyon coal mine sold to Rhino Energy

A bankruptcy judge has officially signed an order that will award the Bear Canyon coal mine in Utah to Rhino Energy. The proposal ends a nearly two-year battle over whether the mine could be sold. Judge Kimball Mosier of the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Utah signed an order transferring most of the Bear Canyon site's permits, reserves, machinery and land to Rhino Energy for 9.6mn dollars. The order comes after a protracted court battle that covered multiple years and saw several different offers for the property after C.W. Mining fell into Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
