Ectopic pregnancy following levonorgestrel emergency contraception.

We write to you regarding the article, Ectopic pregnancy following levonorgestrel emergency contraception: a case report [1]. We would like to state that our group had already published three cases of tubal pregnancy after emergency contraception [2,3] which also occurred in a developing country under similar circumstances. In the present report, the authors described the unsuccessful treatment with methotrexate. After drug administration, diagnosis of ruptured ectopic pregnancy (EP) was made and a laparoscopy had to be performed. They affirmed that no history of risk factors for ectopic pregnancy was identified.
