CABOOLTURE-based asphalt manufacturer and paving contractor Aliens Asphalt recently completed a 3.6 million dollars project for Queensland's Department of Main Roads to upgrade the busy Gympie Arterial Road, Brisbane's main northern access road. A section of the Gympie Arterial between Roghan Road and Strathpine Road was widened in the late 1990s and carries a huge volume of traffic - up to 75,000 vehicles per day. The road's open graded asphalt surface was fatigued and needed priority rehabilitation.
