No-glow tags for Raman spectroscopy

Fluorescent tags are commonly used in Raman spectroscopy,but the utility of nonfluorescent tags has barely been explored.In this issue of Analytical Chemistry (pp 3981-3988),Joseph Irudayaraj and colleagues at Purdue University have shown that such tags can be used to detect up to eight DNA probes at one time.
