摘要

The development of new reactions that increase molecular complexity is a paramount goal of modern chemical synthesis. Processes that enable the construction of multiple bonds and/or stereogenic centers in a single synthetic operation offer decisive advantages in developing step-economical or greener syntheses of complex synthetic targets. Three-component transition-meta1-catalyzed cyclo-additions of the general form [m + n + o] have demonstrated the capability to rapidly generate complex molecules, as no less than three new σ bonds and a new ring system are formed from easily accessed π components.
