Further, concerns regarding intrauterine device insertion videos and how/who uses them remains problematic if there is unsupervised access online. Of course, like any information, these videos can be beneficial and educational if used correctly, such as for qualified health professional training. However, the Internet/social media certainly does not limit such use and is largely unregulated, hence our concerns for patient safety. Sources of safe access to high-quality contraception are important to public health. Hence, given our results, we advocate for safe access online from reputable vendors, such as Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites-accredited sites. Access is a good thing but only if it is safe and legitimate.
