NOW in its eighth year, the 2.2 billion dollars Pacific Highway upgrade program has already achieved many of its objectives. As well as boosting tourism and transport efficiency along one of Australia's busiest rural highways, the improvements have already reduced then umber of serious accidents. The recent completion of the Bulahdelah-Coolongolook freeway, Yelgun-Chinderah freeway, Raleigh deviation and Ewingsdale interchange has removed notorious accident spots, according to the New South Wales Roads and Transport Authority.
