Proxy advisory firms recommend Monsanto vote “for” acquisition by Bayer

Two independent proxy advisory firms, Institutional Shareholder Services and Glass, Lewis & Co, have recommended that Monsanto shareowners vote “for” the proposal to adopt the agreement and plan providing for the acquisition of Monsanto by Bayer. The deal for Bayer to acquire Monsanto for $128 per share was agreed in September. Monsanto shareholders are to vote on the agreed acquisition at a special meeting on December 13th. A proxy firm provides advice to shareholders on how to vote at shareholder meetings.
