Chinese chemical giants ChemChina and Sinochem are discussing a possible merger, according to widespread media reports. The deal is said to have been proposed by the central government as part of its industry consolidation plans under the 13th five-year plan (2016-2020). Both companies have denied the reports but rumours persist.
