EU to update ai list for pesticide statistics

The European Commission has proposed updates to clarify the list of active ingredients for which EU member states must collect data on sales and use. The original list of just over 500 ais was first used in 2011 as part of the implementation of the EU pesticide statistics Regulation (1185/2009), which introduced harmonised collection of data on the amounts of ais sold and, for specific crops, the amounts used.
