Top six ahead for fourth year running

All six of the world’s leading agrochemical multinationals posted sales gains in 2014, the fourth consecutive year in which that has occurred. However, in every case where sales were disclosed the growth was more muted than the strong gains seen in 2013. Syngenta topped the $11,000 million sales mark for the first time. Syngenta maintained its position at the head of the ranking, with single-digit percentage sales gains in all of its major regions except North America, which dipped by 7%. The company saw strong growth for fungicides and insecticides but herbicide and seed treatment sales were down on the previous year.
