Historical woody plants and their protection in the concept of the new forest management plan of the composed.

The National Cultural Monuments of Kuks and Braunuv Betlem (Braun's Bethlehem) are among the most remarkable works of Czech Baroque. Historically, they were part of the manor of Count Frantisek Antonin Spork (1662-1738) - Choustnikovo Hradiste located on the south-east edge of the foothills of the Giant Mountains on the upper reaches of the Elbe river. The landscape of the manor of Choustnikovo Hradiste has been analyzed within the international cooperation of the Silva Tarouca Research Institute for Landscape and Ornamental Gardening with Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), World Heritage Centre (WHC), Fachhochschule Potsdam and Brandenburgische Technische Universitat Cottbus on the project "The Development of Methodology and Instruments for Preservation of Cultural Landscapes of National Value on the Example of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage" (Jech et al., 2007b). The basic data for a new forest management plan of the south-east part of the territory of interest have been working out among the first applications of the results. After the completion of the approval process the plan should serve as a binding groundwork for forest management of the composed Novy les (New Forest) surrounding the National cultural monument of Braunuv Betlem. The validity of the forest management plan: 2008-2018 (according to the Forest Act No. 289/1995 of Coll.), responsible entity: Lesprojekt Hradec Kralove, s.r.o., owner: the town of Dvur Kralove nad Labem.
