Before the induction period of olive, 2000 mg L-1 daminozide (Alar) was externally applied to 'Memecik' olive trees in the 'on' year, and its effects on endogenous hormone levels in leaf, node and fruit samples in "on" and "off" years were investigated. Gibberellic acid (GA3) levels were higher in all periods in the fruiting period while this level was decreased in off year, and GA3 levels in leaves were higher than those in node and fruit samples in the greater part of the sampling seasons. Abscisic acid (ABA) and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) levels in leaves, nodes and fruits were higher in all periods in 'off' year. Though zeatin (Z) levels showed no significant differences in both years, it was found higher in many periods of "off" year. Z, ABA and IAA level especially increased at the induction and initiation periods in "off" year.
