摘要

This work presents an evaluation of a commercial corrosion inhibitor used for inhibiting natural gas transport lines. The evaluation was carried out in a pilot plant, in which the corrosion rate was measured by means of polarization resistance, potentiodynamic polarization, weight loss, and electrical resistance. The operating conditions were: flow velocities of: 0.20, 0.40 and 0.60 m/s; temperatures of 45, 60 and 75 deg C; inhibitor concentrations of 10, 20 and 30 ppm CO_2 partial pressure maintained at 205 kPa. Each test lasted 72 hours. Corrosion rate and efficiency of the inhibitor depended on the operation conditions and evaluating technique used.
