Southeast trumps Northeast in coal-to-gas switching

Despite the Northeast and the Southeast regions having similar estimated coal-to-gas fuel switching potential, the Southeast is reigning as king so far in 2015 with year-to-date daily switching estimates averaging at 1,060 MMcf/d, 11% higher than what the region saw in 2012 when prices were at all-time lows, and nearly four times as high as what the Northeast region has seen so far this year, according to a Bentek Energy analysis.
