LG&E, KU say Kentucky EW Brown power plant should continue to operate

While Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities are preparing in May to retire coal-fired units at their Cane Run, Kentucky, baseload power plant, part of the 800 MW of older coal generation the state’s two largest electric utilities plan to shutter over the next year or so, they say two coal units at their EW Brown baseload plant totaling 300 MW need not be shut.
