EPA seeks input on adding flexibility to carbon emission reductions plan proposal

After hearing plenty of criticism from thepower industry and others, the Environmental ProtectionAgency last week provided new information and soughtcomment on adding flexibility to its landmark proposal toreduce greenhouse gas emissions from existing power plants.The notice of data availability discusses one of the biggestgripes from the industry with the Clean Power Plan —the proposed interim deadline of 2020 to reduce emissionsprior to the final deadline of 2030. Acknowledging concernsabout the impacts of interim reduction goals, EPA soughtcomment on ways to phase in requirements to addressthose concerns.
