Beijing, China: China's petrochemical Sinopec Group and the provincial government of Guizhou have invested USD 2.8 billion (CNY 18 billion) for the first phase of a coal-based petrochemical project in Qianxinan city, southwest China.In the first phase, the company plans to build a 1.8 million metric tons per year coal-to-methanol complex, a 600,000 metric tonnes per year of methanol-to-olefms unit, a 300,000 metric tons per year liner low density polyethylene plant and a 300,000 metric tonnes per year polypropylene plant.
