Nanjing, China: According to a previous announcement, the USD 1.4 billion first phase of expansion of petrochemical Joint Venture (JV) between BASF and Sinopec, BASF-YPC becomes operational. The capacity of the existing ethylene plant has expanded from 600,000 million tonnes annually to 740,000 tonnes per annum. The expansion began in 2009.
