THE WAVE of new Middle East capacity and debottleneck-ings could hit US petrochemicals producers soon,according to Citigroup.In a research note,Citigroup analysts said that Middle East industry players appear to be optimistic on the outlook for new capacities.The analysts,who cited market sources at last week's PetroTech conference in Bahrain,said that at the current pace,the Middle East could account for 19% of global ethylene capacity by 2010,up from some 9% today.Saudi Arabia alone has eight crackers and should have 12 by the end of the decade,Citigroup said.
