THE RISE in crude oil prices presents opportunities for the plastics industry,especially in Asia,despite cost pressures,a senior official from Rhodia said last week.Plastics,for example,help to reduce the weight of automobiles and cut energy consumption,said Jean-Claude Stein-metz,vice-president of Rhodia Polyamide,on the sidelines of Chinaplas in Shanghai,China.
