Major agbiotech firms accelerate canola R&D

CANOLAk burgeoning popularity is driving further research and development into its use in food,fuel,feed and even pharma-ceuticals.Several agriculture biotechnology companies are ramping up their R&D efforts,some through strategic alliances,to improve canolas breeding potential and value-added properties.Early this year,Dow AgroSciences LLC hooked up with Canada's National Research Council Plant Biotechnology Institute (NRC-PBI) in a five-year,US10 million canola research agreement.
