Boehringer Ingelheim India and Lupin ink diabetes drug marketing deal

German drug giant Boehringer Ingelheim has entered into an agreement with Mumbai-based Lupin to co-market empa-gliflozin, a novel drug for the treatment of Type-II diabetes in adults. According to the agreement, Lupin will market and sell empa-gliflozin under a separate brand name 'Gib-tulio', while Boehringer will continue to sell it under the brand name' Jardiance'.
