BASF and Avantium set up bio-based FDCA joint venture

BASF and Avantium, the Dutch renewable chemistry firm, have formed a joint venture (JV) for the production and marketing of furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), which is produced from renewable resources, as well as the marketing of the new polymer poly ethylene furanoate (PEF) based on FDCA.
