Cairn India to invest Rs. 10,000-crore to raise output

Cairn India Ltd., the operator of India's largest onshore oil block, has said it will invest Rs. 10,000-crore over the next few years as part of efforts to raise output at its oil fields in Rajasthan by 71%. "The fields are currently producing around 175,000-bpd (barrels per day) and have the potential to support production of 300,000-bpd. That would need such an investment," Chief Executive, Mr. P. Elango said.
