Clariant opens new global textile chemicals headquarters in Singapore; inaugurates ethoxylation plant in China

Swiss-based specialty chemicals company Clariant is set to strengthen its presence in Asia. The company recently opened its new regional headquarters for South East Asia & Pacific and its new global textile chemicals headquarters in Singapore. Clariant alsoinaugurated its newly built ethoxylation plant and application laboratory in Guangdong, China. Clariant's new regional hub is the first headquarters to be shared by Clariant and Sud-Che-mie. The current 200 employees based at the Singapore location will support customers in the South East Asia and Pacific regions. According to Clariant's CEO, Mr. Hariolf Kottmann, the expansion in Asia is an "important pillar" of the company's growth strategy. In the last five years, Clariant's share of sales in the Asia-Pacific region has grown from 17% to around 22%.
