Lukoil's Ukrainian arm to start up PVC plant

Ukraine's largest petrochemical company, KarpatNaftoKhim, owned by Russian oil company Lukoil, is preparing to start up a newly built polyvinyl chloride production facility. The new PVC facility will have capacity to produce about 300,000-mt per year of suspension PVC. The company has invested about $234-mn in the construction of the facility. KarpatNaftoKhim has repeatedly delayed the launch of the facility since December 2010, the original deadline, citing delays by equipment suppliers. In March, the company delayed the launch of the facility to May.
