Assocham sees GDP growth at 7.1% for 2008-09; further slump next fiscal

As the world economy slips into recession, hitting demand hard, and the banking sector takes a conservative approach towards lending to corporate sector, a survey of CEOs by Assocham Business Barometer (ABB) has downgraded India's GDP growth forecast to 7.1% for 2008-09 and even lower to 6.5% for 2009-10.
