Dow jv to get US grant for research on next-generation battery technology

Dow Kokam, the proposed joint venture of Dow Chemical and Townsend Kokam, has been awarded a $161-mn federal grant from the US Department of Energy (DoE) to develop a new generation of high-power battery technology to supply the automotive industry and power the next generation of hybrid and electric vehicles.
