'Small-scale biorefinery projects to play a vital role in moving forward advanced biofuel technology in US'

The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), which represents more than 1,150 biotechnology companies and organisations across the US and more than 30 other nations, has said that the newly funded small-scale biorefinery projects in US will bring forth advanced technologies for converting cellulosic biomass to biofuels and biobased chemicals and products. The US Department of Energy recently announced cost-sharing grants worth US114-mn for four small-scale biorefinery projects, located throughout the US.
